Cake Pops to Cake Truffles

OK I promised to post the "not so perfect" things too!!

First off I wanted to say these tasted AWESOME!! :)

You Will Need...
 - 1 Cake Mix (baked into a cake & cooled)
 - 1 Jar of Frosting
 - Melted Chocolate Chips
 - Good sense of humor

*NOTE* Do not get the morsels as I did. They do not melt right & that is why my "pops" turned into truffles...HAHA Get the chips in the baking section or the milk chocolate bark!!!

Take your cake and crumble into a bowl..

Add in your frosting & stir...

Form the "sticky" mixture into round balls...

Place in freezer for 5 minutes to "set"...

Melt your chocolate on a double boiler...

Take the pop sticks and dip into the melted chocolate and then into the cake balls...

Commence to figuring out you got the WRONG kind of chocolate and as you "dip" the pops watch as they fall off into your chocolate.. Take your spoon and fish them out, add sprinkles and tell your kids this is how you planned to fix them!!

Give your daughter a cake pop (minus the hard chocolate).. Trust me she will LOVE it ;)

Ha - love your honesty! It makes me feel better to know others have these types of failures too! You did good - saving them and your lil girl looked super happy munching on her cake pop! They looked yummy!

Looks like you and your precious helper made some really good Cake Pops. I would like to invite you to bring a dish to my Full Plate Thursday. Thank you for sharing and you have a great week!

Even with the right types of candy melts, I had problems with cake pops falling off the sticks! I'll actually be posting a Cake Pop knockoff next week that worked wonders!

Got here from "from my tiny kitchen" i've made this with almond bark and it's great. i usually use the white stuff 'cause they look pretty. However, not all almond bark is created equally .... i have found that gurley's melts and coats the best. I haven't ever tried with the sticks, but coating them is the hardest part!!! I've frozen some after they're coated. Left 'em in there and just grab one every now and then as a treat. Yummy! Even frozen!
